General information about the PQChips 2026 August
- The name Summer School PQChips 2026 August means the international Summer School on “Physics of Quantum Chips” for individuals at all stages of their scientific careers—from Master’s students and PhD candidates to postdocs and established researchers.
- The aim of the PQChips 2026 August is to promote and increase knowledge on mesoscopic physics and it applications.

This school is intended for participants with a basic understanding of quantum mechanics and quantum solid-state theory. We welcome individuals at all stages of their scientific careers—from Master’s students and PhD candidates to postdocs and established researchers.
Regarding researchers, this school is ideal for:
- Those with a background in theoretical quantum information or quantum thermodynamics who wish to explore how these ideas are physically implemented on solid-state platforms.
- Researchers in material science, curious about the quantum devices created from these materials and how they function.
- Researchers in electronics, interested in pushing the boundaries of their field into the quantum realm.
- There is a limit of 32 participants. The organizers reserve the right to increase the limit in justified circumstances.
Regulations for recruitment to the PQChips 2026 August
- Application deadlines will be published on PQC web page
- Recruitment procedure is free-of-charge.
- The recruitment will be carried out on the basis of the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, enabling fair and full participation in the Project by all people from the target group, regardless of gender, disability, ethnic group and country of origin.
- Recruitment will be carried out through the recruitment form available on the web page School Physics of Quantum Chips (PQC) – Project KlaR: Gdańsk-Lund Cluster: Quantum Development Potential, funded by NAWA Strategic Partnerships
- To apply effectively for participation in the PQC, a candidate must complete all mandatory fields and accept all consents and clauses contained in the recruitment form. In addition, it is required to the attach a CV with statement of interest to the recruitment form.
- The KLAR Project Manager appoints a recruitment committee consisting of at least three members. The recruitment committee conducts the recruitment procedure, i.e.:
- checking of the completeness of the documents submitted by the candidates
- selection of participants,
- notification the candidates about the results of the recruitment procedure,
- drawing up a summary report on the qualification procedure.
- The selection of the Project participants will be made on the basis of the following criteria:
- the candidate’s achievements related to the subject of the Summer School PQChips 2026 August.
- contents of CV and statement of interest.
- relevance of the field of study.
The recruitment committee may decide on interviews with candidates. In such case interviews will be conducted online. In this case, the date of the interview will be arranged at least one week in advance and will be announced on the Project website. Moreover, candidates will be informed about the date of the interview by e-mail.
- Participants will be notified of the enrollment results via e-mail to the address provided in the recruitment form.
Regulations for participation in the Project
- Participation in the Summer School PQChips 2026 August is free of entrance fee.
- The support provided within the framework of Summer School PQChips 2026 August includes participation in a specialist programme offering:
- Five full days program of lectures and exercises conducted in in-person mode;
- Coffee breaks and lunches
- Excursion
- project participant declaring their intention to participate in the PQChips 2026 August obliges themselves to:
- take part in classes on the dates specified in the Summer School PQC schedule,
- bring own laptop and install required software (needed for exercises)
- In order to complete the Summer School PQC, a minimum of 80% of attendance rate is required.
- Participation in the Project ends with a certificate.
- It is possible to resign from participation in the Summer School PQC only by submitting a written declaration to the Organizing Committee (address on the web page).
- If a project participant resigns from the Summer School PQChips 2026 August for which they have been qualified it will be impossible for them to take part in the process of recruitment to another Summer School PQC.
- Project participants are obliged to become familiar with the content of these Rules and to obey these Rules in the course of the Summer School PQC.
- The student can be enrolled to only one edition of the school.
